Welcome to Chesil Beach Cafe, a delightful haven nestled on Bullers Way in Abbotsbury, Weymouth. This charming cafe not only boasts stunning coastal views but also offers an extraordinary dining experience that leaves every visitor craving more.

Known for its fresh, locally-sourced seafood, Chesil Beach Cafe’s menu is a celebration of the ocean's bounty. You can’t miss the Crab Sandwich, featuring painstakingly handpicked crab from Portland, served in soft white bread, a delicious side of fries, a scoop of tangy mayo, and a fresh lemon wedge. It’s a dish that perfectly captures the essence of local gastronomy. For those looking for something heartier, the Bouillabaisse is a must-try—this light, flavorful fish soup is brimming with succulent chunks of white fish, mussels, and king prawns, all brought together with croutons and a sprinkle of coastal cheddar.

The atmosphere at Chesil Beach Cafe is as warm and inviting as its dishes. Visitors are greeted not just with friendly smiles from the staff but also with an ambiance that feels wholly relaxing. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a stroll along the beach, and many customers have remarked on how the lovely staff enhance the overall dining experience. As one guest noted, “the service was so friendly,” making it easy for guests to feel right at home.

But the charm doesn’t stop at the savory menu. Indulge your sweet tooth with delightful desserts like the Dorset Apple Cake, warmed to perfection and served with Rodda's clotted cream or a scoop of rich Madagascan vanilla ice cream. The Affogato is another sublime choice, offering a delicious merger of espresso and ice cream that’s simply irresistible.

Customers rave about their experiences at Chesil Beach Cafe, with one visitor even declaring it “the best cafe on Chesil Beach” after enjoying an incredible bowl of mussels. Users have also been pleasantly surprised by the creativity in their beverages, like the cappuccino topped with freshly grated chocolate flakes, demonstrating that this cafe goes above and beyond to create memorable moments.

The exterior of the cafe surprises many—a cozy spot set in a car park, yet it’s the hidden gem that truly shines once inside. You’ll find unique touches, including a playful ‘tap the crab’ payment method that adds a fun twist to the dining experience, especially for families with young children who love engaging with the quirky decor.

Whether you're a local or just passing through, a visit to Chesil Beach Cafe promises a unique culinary adventure infused with flavors of the sea, heartfelt hospitality, and a splendid view that captures the spirit of the British coastline. Absolutely wonderful cafe with the loveliest staff and tasty fresh food and coffee. We had a Haddock pasty that was freshly made that morning - not something we’d usually go for and we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. We tried the fresh cannolis and had a takeaway coffee to walk along the beach with. Would definitely visit everyday if we lived locally. Thank you!

So much better than we expected, for a cafe in a car park. Very tasty coffee; grated chocolate flakes on the cappuccino rather than the usual choc-dust. Fish finger sandwich had three very long lightly battered bits of fish, mackerel pate delicious, crab sandwich freshly caught from Portland, even the fries were perfectly cooked. Everything was delicious! Staff were really friendly and welcoming too. I mean it's on the edge of a car park but good to watch the comings and goings, compare dogs, chat with strangers and it's a good retreat to shelter from the onshore wind and drizzle. Will have to go back to try the Bubba Prawns next time...

Lovely lovely cafe right on the beach serving great food with a smile. Young ones will love paying the crab on the counter for the food. Amazing place!

Dropped in for lunch while walking the coastal path, went for the crab sandwich and my son went for the catch of the day (sea bass). Was such a warm welcome and the service so friendly. The food was amazing and a much needed stop along the path. Highly recommended!

What a great find! We were exploring around Abbotsbury and came off the beach to find this gem with delicious coffee and cakes and pasties at just the time we needed them! Sally, the owner was lovely, and helped me choose between the cakes and pastries, and there were free biscuits for our dog too. Someone mentioned the crab where you pay. I don't know about the kids loving it, I thought it was superb too! ;-)

The best cafe on Chesil beach. Had the best bowl of mussels ever. Menu is not extensive but excellent local fish which changes regularly depending on what is caught. Rustic licencensed cafe for a laid back lunch

Excellent coffee (this comment is from a coffee snob who has been looking for a decent coffee for several days!) and really delicious almond croissant. Love the fact you have to 'tap the crab' to pay! I would highly recommend this little gem in a beautiful spot.

Update to my last post about this lovely, friendly little cafe. Took the motorbikes down to this little Cafe right off Chesil Beach. Overall, it was a nice, pleasant experience. I didn't eat anything but I had a diet coke in a glass. I asked for ice and was happily surprised that the server was able to give me a glass full of ice!!!! WELL DONE. My husband had coffee with an extra shot of hot water, and the server was happy to accommodate him. Again, WELL DONE!! The Coffee was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful, there were plenty of seats, some in the shade. Parking was a pound for an hour, which was reasonable. I'D LIKE TO PARTICULARLY CONGRATULATE THE OWNERS FOR CLEANING UP THE TABLES AND BENCHES!!!!! THANK YOU for acting on my previous comment. JOLLY WELL DONE.
